This resolution calls for creation of a Senate Special Tax Exemption Study Committee to work with independent researchers at the state’s research universities to study tax records and analyze existing economic development tax credits to determine if employers receiving the credits are creating jobs at a higher rate than those who do not receive the tax credits. They would generate a report to outline which tax credits, if any, are meeting goals. It would have to be filed by December 1, 2014.
